COVID bubble mini-tournament

The Outer Rim Pilots had a mini tournament. A simple format – two games each – semi finals, final and third/fourth place in an evening.

Three Galactic Republic lists, which shows how versatile and strong their ships seem to be and how easy it is to put a squadron together that can be both beefy and attacking. Razaman (Justin) brought pure scum jank! Dengar is the heavy hitter with Serrisu having the opportunity to do damage with proton torpedoes.

SEMI-FINAL 1:

Tom vs EvilC

Republic vs Republic – Obi Wan and Plo wanted to put down these rebellious Republicans and flew out head on to meet them. This was a drastic mistake! Leaving the two Y-wings behind meant that Kenobi could not assist the Y-wings with his battle meditation skills. Plo and Obi took early damage which left Tom’s squad with the upper hand. Plo and Obi soon were taken off the board leaving the Y-wings to battle alone. Tom’s superior decision making led him to a 170-54 win.

SEMI-FINAL 2:

Razaman vs Dorian

Scum vs Galactic Republic. This game swung back and forth with Razaman’s scum ships drawing first blood in the initial engagement. Some good piloting frin Dorian allowed the Galactic Republic to gain the advantage but with damage already taken the Republic fell to the multiple firing arcs and concentrated fire of the Scum. The Scum and Villiany of the Outer Rim march on to the final.

3rd/4th PLACE GAME:

Galactic Republic vs Galactic Republic. This time EvilC’s Jedi would not forget their heavy hitters. Obi Wan uses his battle meditation well to allow the Y-wings to fire proton torpedoes at Broadside, clearing him from the board early in the game. Obi and Plo would contine to marshal the Y-wings taking the true Galactic Republic to a victory against the wannabe Republicans of Dorian.

TOURNAMENT FINAL:

The force would be strong for Tom’s Galactic Republic. This is the first time the other Outer Rim Pilots had seen the LAAT/i gunship Warthog with the Wolfpack. The beefy LAAT along with the two ARC-170s would be too much hull for the scum janksters to eat through. A range 3 shot would take out one shot one of the Mining Ties early in the game and then the battle really started. Serrisu took out an ARC’s shields with it’s Proton Torpedo and then would k-turn behind Warthog to do even more damage. The Warthog would return fire, destroying the pesky M3-A. Ric and Dengar were doing a dance to see who could gain the advantage. Meanwhile the Warthog would go down in flames. Ric managed to deal with the Ties. In Ric’s haste he got caught by Dengar at range one. Dengar fired into Ric with a fully modified attack out of the rear arc. Ric would survive with one health and then would use his piloting skills to continually block Dengar while the two ARC’s wold slowly pick him off. With Dengar gone, Ric barrel rolled away to the victory.

2nd – Razaman
3rd – EvilC
4th – Dorian
